Scholarships for UNT Interior Design Students

Interior design majors at the University of North Texas have access to several scholarships from the College of Visual Arts and Design, as well as external partners in the hospitality industry. Most CVAD scholarships are awarded through the Eagle Scholarship Portal each year, usually with deadlines around March 1.

To be considered, you must be admitted to UNT, activate your MyUNT and EagleConnect accounts, and create a profile in the Eagle Scholarship Portal.

Scholarships just for UNT CVAD interior design majors 

CVAD donors fund these awards and are specifically open to interior design majors. All amounts vary by year and available funding.

Gensler Endowed Scholarship in Interior Design

For undergraduate interior design majors at the junior level.

John Herron Scholarship in Interior Design

For interior design majors who are first-generation college students and demonstrate financial need.

CVAD UNT Foundation Fund for the College of Visual Arts and Design Endowed Scholarships

This fund provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students in any CVAD major, including interior design.

External hospitality and interior design scholarships

Professional organizations fund these scholarships, which can be used at UNT if you meet the eligibility requirements.

NEWH Dallas Chapter Scholarships

The NEWH Dallas Chapter awards scholarships to students pursuing a major in interior design and a career objective in the hospitality industry, including interior design, hospitality management, culinary arts and related fields. Applicants must be enrolled at a college or university in northern Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri or Kansas. They typically must have at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need for tuition or approved program expenses.

  1. Apply and be admitted to UNT and declare interior design as your major.Financial Aid

  2. Activate MyUNT and EagleConnect, then create an Eagle Scholarship Portal profile.

  3. Log in to the Eagle Scholarship Portal and search for “Interior Design” and “CVAD” to see all relevant opportunities. Financial Aid

  4. Prepare your materials early – many scholarships require a short essay, a brief bio or portfolio examples, and some require FAFSA data.
