UNT Studio Art Students Create Public Art for Corinth Butterfly Garden
Studio Art: Intermediate Sculpture Course, Art in Public Highlight
Associate Professor Alicia Eggert’s course, Art in Public, explores the history and evolution of public art, its role
in society, and the strategies artists use to engage with public spaces beyond traditional
galleries and museums.
In Fall 2024, the Art in Public students Frank Green, Christi Stidham, and Brooke Thompson created lasting installations for the Corinth Community Park Butterfly Garden as
part of this interdisciplinary course. After weeks of planning and construction, the
artists' sculptures have been installed at the park with help from the Fall 2025 Art
in Public class members.
