Congratulations to CVAD M.F.A. alum Tesa Morin, lecturer in Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies, on receiving a 2025 CVAD Cornerstone Award to attend the 2025 Adobe MAX conference in Los Angeles.

Morin participated in the conference’s education track, earning focus badges in graphic design and branding. She also completed Adobe professional certifications in Visual Design Using Adobe Photoshop, Graphic Design and Illustration Using Adobe Illustrator, and Content Creation and Marketing Using Adobe Express. This training strengthens her work as both an educator and a visual artist.

During walks through downtown Los Angeles to and from the conference venue, Morin photographed the city and later used new skills in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to create “Connection 28,” a new piece in her Borders/Boundaries series.

Morin holds a B.F.A. with a photography emphasis and a minor in painting from Texas Tech University, Lubbock. She earned her M.F.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in photography and a minor in digital art from UNT CVAD.

In CVAD, research and scholarship are supported and celebrated in many forms. In addition to traditional definitions and practices, research includes creative activity, innovative practice, and community-engaged art and design work. CVAD's Research Infrastructure Committee coordinates the CVAD Cornerstone Grant and supports faculty research, creative projects and scholarly activity. The grant awards up to $2,500 for small-scale or early-stage projects, such as exhibitions, conference presentations, research materials, image rights or collaborations.
