Drs. D. Jack Davis and Gail Davis, 2019
Drs. D. Jack Davis and Gail Davis paused for a photo at the 2019 Art Building Grand Opening. The D. Jack and Gail C. Davis Conference Room in the Dean's Office was named in their honor.

Gail Comer Davis, Ph.D., July 11, 1940–July 8, 2025, was a nationally recognized leader in nursing education. She and her husband, Dr. D. Jack Davis — Professor Emeritus and founding dean of the School of Visual Arts, now the College of Visual Arts and Design — established endowments to support CVAD and the D. Jack Davis Art Education Collection at the UNT Libraries. A memorial service is scheduled on July 19 at 1 p.m. in Fort Worth.
