I've always been drawn to the creative process, whether it was making art, baking,
or eagerly rearranging a room. I knew I belonged in a creative field, but it wasn't
until I worked through my associate's degree that I found my niche. I realized that
studio art felt too unstructured and baking too chaotic, but Interior Design offered
the perfect balance of creativity and problem-solving, allowing me to explore the
depth of human-centered design.
Over the past four years, I've learned that my passion for interior design is rooted
in understanding how people experience and interact with spaces. I'm fascinated by
how thoughtful design can shape habits, comfort, and well-being. While at UNT, I've
cultivated skills as a member, events chair, and president of IDSA; these experiences
have given me opportunities to learn, grow, and refine my skills. I'm excited to advance
the skills I have gained and inspire new designers.

Charming & Main, Retail Sector
Key Words used were Adaptive Reuse, Lighting Design, Sense of Place, and Sensory Design
This project transforms a traditional warehouse into a modern boutique and photography
studio. The design focuses on creating a strong sense of place for everyone who uses
the space — warehouse staff, office employees, team members and customers. Each zone
is thoughtfully planned so that productivity and comfort coexist.
Through adaptive reuse, part of the industrial warehouse is reimagined as a customer-forward
retail environment. Sensory design plays a key role, using textures, lighting, layout,
and atmosphere to create the space. Special attention is given to dressing room lighting,
understanding how it impacts confidence and self-perception. Overall, the space blends
function and feeling — bringing warmth, creativity and identity into an industrial
setting.
