I use design thinking and research tools to address how design decision-making can yield measurable business ROI, as well as how AI-driven product engineering can be integrated with screen-designing skills more effectively. The end result of my efforts in these areas will ensure that the needs of a wider variety of users and stakeholders are effectively met.

4 adults are standing around a tabletop in an office setting viewing material they see on two laptops set on this tabletop. The headline “EndoMD Texas” appears at left atop a short subhead that describes diabetes diagnosis for rural Texans.I was brought aboard “The EndoMD TX” project as a UX researcher to help an interdisciplinary team of UX designers, researchers, developers, and healthcare professionals extend the capabilities of this interactive, online-facilitated toolkit. Its purpose was, and still is, to help Texans living with diabetes — and their caregivers — manage their disease effectively while also increasing their general health literacy. I helped create content in both English and Spanish.

A young, light-skinned woman with short, dark hair sits across from a light-skinned man wearing a ballcap in a wheelchair as they engage in conversation. They are seated within a large, open interior space.I collaborated with a cross-functional team of 18 UX researchers and designers, product developers, and AI engineers as we partnered with the non-profit “Daily Living Labs” to create a limited array of in-home products that would make some of the daily living activities of people with special needs easier for them to engage in. The research we planned and engaged in was co-created in that it involved the active participation and feedback of the people we were trying to help.

A group of about 25 people—mostly adults wearing office apparel—are shown standing in front of a horizontal banner that appears stretched in front of them at waist height that reads “Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce.”I will be leading a State-of-California, grant-funded research project intended to improve the retention rate among people facilitating in-home care for Californians living in and around the City of Roseville who need it. I will be planning and conducting design research with caregivers, business owners, and care recipients themselves to guide design decision-making that will benefit all of these groups.
