I’m Torrin Nguyen, a graphic designer and illustrator. I obsess over the little things
that matter, illustrate the beauty in the unconventional, and find joy and meaning
in what people make. I’ve got a mind bursting with ideas, that loves diving deep into
the nitty gritty of design and the concepts behind them; a design is nothing without
a story. With passion and motivation stemming from the art, media, and creations of
the people around me, my enjoyment in design is drawn to oddities, the niche, and
the amusing.
I’ve worked on a variety of projects ranging from branding to packaging to publication,
but I’d hate to anchor myself to just one thing. I always seek a unique idea and a
challenge to stretch my creativity. I’ve done art for nearly 20 years, and I’ve drawn
digitally for a decade. And with my time in the Graphic Design program at UNT, I’ve
expanded and honed my skills in design fundamentals and know-how, gotten in the weeds
of Adobe, and have gotten the opportunity to make things I’ve never made before.
With that, I hope you enjoy this snippet of my work; who knows, maybe we’ll end up
crossing paths in the future! It’s a small world, but it is the little things that
matter.
Elsewhere Unplug creates eco-friendly arts and crafts supplies meant for sustainable
living and cutting down on screen time. With a range of products mainly aimed towards
children, but can be used by teens and adults alike. The aim of the project was to
redesign the product’s packaging to better represent its values and target audience,
to better capture a feeling of whimsy and nature with the packaging and product photography.
Three variants of the packaging were created, including mascot characters, back panel
illustrations, and crayon wraps.

Post-Everything, a collection of interviews, essays, and fanworks surrounding the
award-winning movie, "Everything, Everywhere, All at Once." Reflecting on the ways
the film has moved people and the chaotic creativity that surrounds it. Each page
is meticulously designed with the idea of capturing the movie’s overwhelming absurdity,
translating video essays to a text format, and paying homage to A24 Studio’s collaborative
zines.
