Hi, I’m Allie Chilek, a communication designer. Though my creative path started long before I ever opened design software. I’ve always been drawn to the way ideas take shape. At the center of my work is curiosity. I design by exploring ideas, testing possibilities, and staying open to where the creative process takes me.

That curiosity spills into the rest of my life, too. I’ve collected a mountain of hands-on hobbies over the years. And when I’m not making something in the studio, I’m tending to thousands of tiny, buzzing collaborators at my apiary in Sherman, Texas.

Whether I’m crafting a design or working on a hive, I’m always striving to create something meaningful by bringing care, curiosity, and a love of the process to every project.

Redesign of JoAnn Fabric and Fashion. This campaign marks a strategic shift for Joann Fabrics, redefining the brand by emphasizing its core strength in fabric while adopting a more fashion-forward identity. By moving away from direct competition with general craft retailers, Joann positions itself as a destination for textiles that inspire personal style, creativity, and self-expression. This focus elevates fabric from a purely functional product to a medium for design and innovation, allowing the brand to engage a more trend-conscious audience. In doing so, Joann not only differentiates itself within the market but also strengthens its relevance by aligning more closely with the fashion space.

Campaign for Shiner Honey beer. This design campaign for Shiner Honey Blonde highlights the brand’s deep Texas roots, independent spirit, and commitment to craftsmanship by introducing a light, smooth, and slightly sweet beer made with locally sourced Texas honey. Custom typography and illustration work together to create a packaging system that strengthens Shiner’s position as both authentic and approachable, while appealing to younger drinkers, casual beer fans, and those new to craft beer.

""This campaign reimagines the 1980s song “Here I Go Again” with a typographic poster inspired by Miley Cyrus and her Plastic Hearts era, blending the song’s themes with her contemporary punk-rock aesthetic. Using a hands-on, analog approach, the design incorporates spray-painted lettering, painted newspaper backgrounds, and cut-and-paste typography, all created manually and then refined digitally. The result is an energetic, rebellious visual that captures both the spirit of the original track and Miley Cyrus’s edgy brand identity, ultimately earning an Honorable Mention in the Graphis New Talent Awards 2024.
