From an early age, I was deeply aware of how people interact with the spaces around them — especially in hospital settings, where I spent much of my childhood. I was navigating life with cholesteatoma, a serious condition behind the eardrum that can lead to hearing loss or brain damage if untreated. Amid the uncertainty of medical visits, I found comfort in the small design elements of hospital waiting rooms—soothing colors, natural light, thoughtfully arranged seating. These details made a lasting impression.

That early perspective ultimately led me to take root in interior design, a field where empathy, functionality, and well-being intersect to create spaces with purpose. My passion lies in using design to enhance quality of life. Whether through strategic lighting, spatial planning, or user-centered solutions, I’m driven by the belief that thoughtful design can offer peace, dignity, and healing to those who need it most.

Throughout my time at UNT, I’ve bloomed into the designer I once only imagined I could become. It took dedication, resilience, and a true passion for design to grow—not just in technical skill, but in confidence and creative vision. When I first entered the interior design program, everything felt new and challenging. But through practice, perseverance, and the support of my community, I’ve accomplished more than I ever expected.

Looking ahead, I see myself being planted in the healthcare design sector. My experiences at UNT have shown me just how impactful this area of the industry can be — and it’s exactly where I know I’m meant to grow next.
