My passion for interior design stems from a concept I call “improvement through movement.” After a 20-year career as a gymnastics coach, I found myself wanting to take root as an interior designer to continue enhancing others' lives through movement, but in a new and exciting context. I am fascinated by themes of repetitive movement, the integration of nature, and the use of ample natural light. These elements are not just aesthetically pleasing but also functional, promoting well-being and fluidity within spaces.
My time as a student at the University of North Texas has been instrumental in my development as a designer. I’ve grown through meaningful experiences such as serving as vice president of the Interior Design Student Alliance, collaborating closely with peers, and receiving one-on-one feedback from faculty and industry professionals. These opportunities have shaped my design approach and strengthened my confidence.
Drawing from my background as a high-level athlete, I aspire to join a large design firm focused on the sports and entertainment sector. I’m passionate about creating dynamic, functional environments that reflect the energy and purpose of these spaces. Looking ahead, I hope to grow into a role where I can mentor and inspire emerging designers to reach their full potential.
