About: Aaliyah Uzzell graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design and minors in Merchandising and Printmaking. She is passionate about fashion design as a vehicle for self-expression and empowerment, community, and sustainability. After years of training and practice with many different materials, Aaliyah considers herself a multidisciplinary artist and aims to integrate principles of art into every aspect of her work. Her skill set includes Adobe Creative Suite, CLO3D, garment construction, conceptual development, trend forecasting, technical design, printmaking, drawing, and painting. At the University of North Texas, Aaliyah’s work was featured in staff-curated shows, including “Emergence” and “State of Black Design”. Additionally, she organized and featured collaborative work in a student-ran exhibition, “Disconnect-to-Reconnect”, in 2024. Aaliyah hopes to apply her creative, technical, and leadership skills to grow as an artist and designer.
