About Me: Darria Wesley graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Fashion Design. She is passionate about using fashion as a form of expression, while highlighting underrepresented communities and providing social commentary, as evidenced by her research internship at the Texas Fashion Collection, where she explored the use of sewing and dress as protest within the Black community. Wesley has extensive experience in the bridal industry, having worked as a stylist and alterations assistant across various companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She is skilled in pattern making, draping, sewing, and using a variety of software programs, including but not limited to, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and Clo3D. Wesley hopes to use her skills to introduce color and flare to the bridal industry, a usually traditional sector of fashion, as well as the evening wear sector.
