KPK Lighting Design, Houston, seeks a Lighting Designer and a Lighting Intern for Summer 2025

KPK in gray and white letters KPK Lighting Design is an award-winning, fast­ growing design firm based out of Houston, Texas. KPK is looking to bring on new designers to work on a variety of project types including high end multifamily towers, corporate interiors, mixed use, hospitality, retail, restaurant and residential.

Lighting Designer • Info Sheet

Full Time Hybrid: 2 days in-office; 3 days remote
Potential candidates should be hardworking, creative, and detail-oriented with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years work experience
  • Experience in construction management
  • A team player who is self-motivated with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tasks
  • Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Open to Travel (10-25% of time)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, lnDesign, MS Office
  • Knowledge or working experience in AGl32 or Bluebeam is preferred
  • Typical undergraduate education to meet requirements:
  • Arch Eng with Emphasis in Lighting
  • Interior Design with Emphasis in Lighting
  • Architecture or Environmental Design

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on project designs with team members
  • Lighting Fixture Schedules, Cutsheets
  • Lighting Control Intents and Riser Diagrams
  • Lighting Cost Estimates
  • Drafting in Revit and CAD (Mostly Revit)
  • Attend virtual and in-person meetings with Clients
  • Site visits. Aiming and Dimming
  • Project management

Lighting Intern • Info Sheet

Hybrid: 2 days in-office; 3 days remote
Potential candidates should be hardworking, creative, and detail-oriented with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
 
Qualifications

  • Junior or Senior level undergraduate student in the school of Interior Design, Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
  • A team player who is willing to pitch in on other projects to meet deadlines
  • A self-motivated individual with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tasks
  • Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, lnDesign, MS Office
  • Knowledge or working experience in AGl32 or Bluebeam is preferred

Responsibilities
Be an active participant in the completion of all phases of lighting design scope of work for individual projects from schematic design to construction administration

  • Lighting Fixture Schedules, Cutsheets
  • Lighting Control Intents and Riser Diagrams
  • Lighting Cost Estimates
  • Drafting Lighting Design in Revit
  • Attend virtual and in-person meetings with Clients
  • Site visits. Aiming and Dimming.
