UNT Brings Braven Career Accelerator to Campus Starting Spring 2026

The University of North Texas is launching a new partnership with Chicago-based Braven to help students build real-world skills, confidence and connections for life after graduation. This marks Braven’s first partnership in Texas and brings a nationally recognized career-readiness program to UNT.

Starting in Spring 2026, Braven at UNT will offer the Braven Career Accelerator to transfer students, with plans to grow the program to serve up to 4,000 students within five years. The program is designed especially for first-generation college students and students from low-income backgrounds — groups that make up a significant portion of the UNT community.

Braven’s Career Accelerator is a 3-credit course that blends online lessons with in-person learning labs. Students work in small teams and are coached by professionals from a variety of industries. Through hands-on projects, students build essential career skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and career navigation.

Students who complete the course become Braven Fellows and continue to receive support beyond the classroom. Fellows gain access to career coaching, mentorship, internship and job opportunities, and alumni networking events that can help open doors long after graduation.

Braven has a strong track record nationwide. More than 14,000 students have completed the program, and a majority of recent graduates secured full-time jobs or were accepted into graduate school within six months — at higher rates than peers at similar institutions.

UNT leaders say the partnership reflects the university’s commitment to helping students succeed both during college and after they graduate. With more than 324,000 alumni living and working in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the program also creates new opportunities for mentorship and career connections across the region.

By bringing Braven to campus, UNT is investing in students’ futures — helping them graduate with not only a degree, but the skills, experience and confidence to take the next step.
