Course Title: ADES 4615-001 Topics in Interior Design: Materiality and the Built Environment

3 Weeks, 1 session: May 16 - June 3, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Join us as we embark on the 2022 Summer Sustainable Design Challenge: Design for Healthy Lifestyles, Healthy Communities!

In this collaborative course, students will train in ethnographic research, participate in community-based site visits, and work in teams to develop collaborative concepts for healthy lifestyles and sustainable community development.

The presented topics course ADES 4615-001 for Interior Design majors has three desired outcomes.

1. Engaging with a community-based client to create a designed object for the client's environment
2. Engaging with sustainable design practices, the students will have the opportunity to be exposed to off-site visits and
3. Manufacturing locations to round out their exposure to interior finish materials

Outcomes will include design-build opportunities and connections to specification writing. There will additionally be provided to integrate educational pursuits with the Fashion Design topics course to engage topical and materiality understanding better.
