ZGF Architects opens applications for two major scholarships, the Norm Zimmer Scholarship and the Emerging Black Architects and Design Scholarship.
Norm Zimmer Scholarship
The Norm Zimmer Scholarship is open to any student entering the final year of an Architecture (NAAB), Interior Design (CIDA), Urban Planning and Design (PAB), or Landscape Architecture (LAAB) program in the Fall of 2023.
In memory of ZGF founding partner Norm Zimmer, the ZGF Scholarship exemplifies Norm's spirit and devotion to design, community and life-long learning. With this guiding ethos in mind, each year, one student is selected to receive $10,000 for university tuition and fees and an optional paid internship with ZGF.
ZGF is dedicated to supporting the next generation of designers, and we encourage all interested applicants across architectural, interior, urban, or landscape design to apply. We are looking for students who are committed to their craft and dedicated to personal development in their chosen fields. ZGF is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We encourage under-represented minorities and women to apply for the scholarship.
Emerging The Emerging Black Architects Scholarship is open to any student who identifies as Black or African American and is entering their final year of Architecture (NAAB), Interior Design (CIDA), Urban Planning and Design (PAB), or Landscape Architecture (LAAB) program in the Fall of 2023.
Emerging Black Architects and Design Scholarship
ZGF proudly presents the third year of our Emerging Black Architects and Design scholarship to support Black students currently enrolled in Architecture and Design programs in the US. In 2020, ZGF Staff raised $160,000 on Juneteenth and partnered with ZGF's leadership to create a lasting opportunity to aid Black students on their path to becoming professionals in architecture and design. Each year, two students are selected to receive $5,000 for university tuition and fees and an optional paid internship with ZGF.
Qualifications and directions for both scholarships can be found on the ZGF website. To apply, visit the ZGF Scholarships web page.
Deadline
Applications from students are due by Feb. 17, 2023, by 11 p.m. PST.
The intended scholarship recipients will be chosen, and the Oregon Community Foundation will formally announce the scholarship winners in the Spring of 2023.
