Oct. 28, 2023 — CVAD Celebrates 130/30 Canceled: Remarks from Dean Karen Hutzel.
Dean Hutzel shares thoughts about CVAD's history and growth. She also thanked the planning committee, students and faculty, donors, alumni, Advancement Board and our friends planning to attend.
Happy Homecoming to all; we look forward to seeing you at CVAD Celebrates next year.
From our first classes in 1883 to becoming the School of Visual Arts in 1993-94 and
growing to the College of Visual Arts and Design in 2007, we have repeatedly demonstrated
that art and design are essential to the human experience. It seems fitting that we
honor our anniversaries with a day-long celebration to bring together everyone from
our past, present, and future during UNT's Homecoming weekend on Oct. 28, 2023.
We will host various events, including a career panel of alumni to share their stories,
faculty and staff demonstrations and lectures, exhibitions of student artwork installed
throughout the Art Building and in the Art Annex, light refreshments and some fun
family activities. We will end the day by commemorating the recipients and donors
of our many excellent scholarships. Please support scholarships and the Dean's Excellence
Fund by participating in our Giving Initiative and Sponsorship Opportunities.
We hope you can join us in celebrating our college and all the people who have worked
to make it one of the nation's best and largest art and design schools. If you have
questions, please email CVAD.Events@unt.edu.
