About Me: I’ve always walked the taught, thin line between science and the humanities—I loved art as a kid, but everyone I knew told me that a STEM major was the most stable career path. Through many hours of experimentation in those late teenage years, I discovered the world of design. As a unique fusion of artistic creativity and broad approaches for critically solving complex problems, design as a discipline seemed like it was made for me — it offered the perfect blend of left and right brain thinking.

I don’t want to just make pretty things, I want to create solutions for real people in the real world that actually work, while also being politically, socially, and environmentally conscious. A design solution whose negative impacts are “out of sight, out of mind” is no solution at all; outcomes from design processes have to be sustainable, equitable, and just, with no strings attached.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in college, it’s that you’re never done evolving as a person, so I’m sure I’ve grown a lot since the day I wrote this. Please feel free to reach out; we all have our own stories, perspectives, and tidbits of wisdom… I would love to hear yours!
