Denton ISD Art Show "Outside the Box" features K-12th-grade emerging artists at CVAD
The 10th annual “Outside the Box” exhibition, May 15–18, 2023, featuring the District Art Show artists in K–12th grades from the Denton Independent School District, opens at the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design.
With remarks from Dean Karen Hutzel, CVAD welcomed approximately 400 students, parents, and teachers from Denton ISD at a reception on May 15 in the Cora Stafford Gallery, UNT Art Building. The event also included remarks from DISD notables Charlene Parham, district area superintendent of academic programs, Eddy Russell, director of fine arts, and Kelley McGee, assistant director of fine arts.
Guests viewed selected artwork created by students and art educators at each Denton ISD school.
The exhibition opening was organized by Stefanie Dlugosz-Acton, director, CVAD Galleries, and Peter Hyland, director, Onstead Institute, in collaboration with the DISD faculty and staff.
