Status:    Full time, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. with occasional overtime
Travel: Local travel required

Job Description

Senior Designers (6+ years of experience) should be client-focused and experienced in all aspects of the design process. The successful candidate should be able to integrate creativity with a business mindset and focus on a high-touch client experience. Senior Designers must be proactive problem-solvers who can work well independently, and on a team, while facing tight deadlines. 

•    Client Relationships
o    Own the Client relationship
o    Ensure prompt (within 24 hours) communications and replies to Clients
o    Ability to plan, establish and meet deadlines with Clients
o    Immediately escalate Client concerns to the principal

•    Design
o    Formulate design presentations, preliminary space plans and 2D or 3D design concept studies and sketches 
o    Create floor plans, elevations, details, reflected ceiling plans, furniture plans, shop drawings, materials, and finish schedules 
o    Ability to field measure and document existing building conditions 
o    Prepare specifications and schedules with accurate product information for furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting and finishes 
o    Design furniture layouts and select furniture, fabric, etc. for principal and Client approval

•    Sourcing
o    Understanding and knowledge of leading high-end architectural materials, furniture, fixtures, accessory and fabric dealers
o    Ability to manage vendor conversations and negotiations
o    Provide specifications to Project Managers for purchasing and billing to Clients

•    Installation
o    Manage, track, and install furnishings for several projects with overlapping deadlines 
o    Site visits as needed and management of on-site builders or trades
o    Ensure the quality of all facets of the installed project
o    Independently problem solve as needed, keep the principal and project team informed

Qualifications

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Experience running multiple client-facing projects (6+ years)
•    Attention to detail/accuracy 
•    MS Office Suite proficiency 
•    AutoCAD proficiency required (Revit and SketchUp a plus)
•    Strong organizational skills are essential
•    Must be proactive
•    Architecture, design or construction company experience preferred (6+ years)
•    Experience with Studio Designer software is a plus
