About Me: We wear clothing everyday, and it has a great effect on our lives- it protects us, assists us, and lets us show the world who we are. I want to craft the kind of clothing that lasts and is treasured by its user. As a designer I work with the form of the human body to make pieces that are comfortable, functional, and expressive. I love when I can design something that solves a problem- whether that's functional outdoors wear or flamboyant yet comfortable costumes. I have a strong interest in historical clothing design because I appreciate the craftsmanship and ingenuity that historical garments display, a craftsmanship I strive to emulate. After graduation I hope to use my skills in tailoring and patternmaking to become a technical designer and continue to make well crafted clothing.
These are the technical flats of my designs. I drew my inspiration listening to classical music, experiences at opera and theater performances, and from meeting other men who wanted to dress more eccentrically but couldn't find quite what they wanted between flair and practical use. The designs balance those needs through comfortable fits, large pockets, and lots of flair from fine detailed beadwork to large voluminous sleeves.
This is a group photo of the collection, shown on five male models. This is the Peacocks Court, looking incredible!
