Streetlights Residential seeks Interior Design Intern, Dallas

Seeking a full-time or part-time Interior Design Intern. Availability: January 2022 | Compensation: Paid.

Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform as part of an interior design team. The interior design intern will be responsible for various tasks associated with designing and developing luxury multi-family projects. This intern will be exposed to tasks associated with multiple stages in project development as well as maintaining vendor relationships and managing the Interior’s Sample Library.

Responsibilities

Interior Design (90%)

  • Collaborate with Assistant Design Managers throughout the design, documentation, construction, installation, and lease-up phases of multifamily and mixed-use projects
  • Translate sketches into digital design by setting up drawings in Revit during the Schematic Design and Design Development phases
  • Develop schedules for unit and amenity finishes
  • Research interior products, colors, finishes, and materials
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials in digital and board formats for all design aspects of residential apartment homes for SLR management and financial partners as needed
  • Assist in vendor presentations and spearhead efforts to organize, maintain, and update the Interior’s Material Library
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve SLR design expectations and standards
  • Other related duties as assigned

Administrative (10%)

  • Partake in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other non-billable planning sessions.
  • Engage in training and development activities as needed and directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an Interior Design program at an accredited college or university; near completion of the degree is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate level in Revit preferred
  • Possesses strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings
  • A team player who possesses a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a high level of professionalism.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands 

  • Primarily an Office environment; opportunities to visit a job site or vendor showroom may arise.
  • While performing the duties of this job, light lifting may be required

Organizational Qualifications 

Project-based -- Reports to Project’s Assistant Design Manager

Work Schedule / Hours 

Hourly:
Part-Time: 20-29 hours/week or
Full Time: 30-40 hours/week
