Alumna-owned Go Studio seeks an entry-level designer

Interior Design Alumna Brett Maldonado seeks a new full-time, entry-level or part-timer while finishing a degree for her Go Studio design company. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Accepting resumes for interviews from the graduating class of 2023.

Full-time positions are salary based commensurate with experience. Full-time positions include insurance benefits, a SIMPLE IRA plan, a rotating Friday off schedule, on-site parking garage / public transportation coverage, and bonus opportunities.

Go Studio is a corporate interior design firm with a special emphasis on Tenant Development. We serve various clients and buildings, design vast spaces that range in size and scope, and address various budgets and timelines. Our clients include building owners, property managers, leasing agents, and end-users (tenants and independent corporate clients).

Go Studio was founded in 2002 by Maldonado. The office is in downtown Dallas in the One Main Place building with underground garage parking, great access to Main and Elm Streets, food and drinks, and a close walk to DART.

Go Studio is a great place for a young designer who wants to gain comprehensive knowledge and skills as a corporate interior designer. Someone who wants to work in a firm that helps designers develop creatively with design development, technically by producing construction drawings and understanding code to gain first-hand construction experience by doing field verifications of project sites and learning how to build client relationships by being a part of meetings.

Qualifications

Graduate of a four-year degree from an Interior Design program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, CIDA. Preferred work experience: 0-5 years

Responsibilities

A Junior Designer is an entry-level position who works under the direct supervision of a project manager and senior staff members. This role is integral to the team by supporting and completing projects on time. A Junior designer works on various tasks through all phases of the design process, including the following.

  • AutoCAD production (as-built plans, space plans, pricing plans, construction documents, elevations, sections, marketing plans, lease exhibits, etc.) utilizing Go Studio standards
  • Field verifications
  • Square footage calculations
  • Design Development / Finish selections
  • Finish boards
  • Research (code compliance, finishes, products and materials, and furniture)
  • Attend client meetings and communicates with vendors as needed
  • Assist with Library and Archiving

Skills

Basic computer skills, including knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Suites or Bluebeam, Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or equivalent
Graphics and/or rendering capabilities are a plus
