On June 13, students will have the opportunity to tour the MillerKnoll showrooms in the Chicago Fulton Market district for inspiration. IIDA invites a school to nominate two students.

The goal of the charrette is to allow students to work in a collaborative team environment, exposing them to different ideas, styles of design, and an opportunity to apply their design knowledge without the aid of a computer or other digital technology. Each team will then present its innovative design solution to a panel of jurors from the interior design industry.

Nominees qualify if they are

  • Active IIDA student members — IIDA will double-check membership status
  • Juniors or seniors — please nominate at least one senior
  • Involved, active, and exceptional students
  • Comfortable drawing by hand — no computers or other digital technology will be allowed!
  • Have an interest in attending NeoCon or already made plans to attend

The student is responsible for covering the costs associated with the trip to NeoCon, and we encourage them to discuss sponsorship opportunities with their school, campus center, and local chapter.
