Creative U — The Summer Arts Program at UNT CVAD
The College of Visual Arts and Design will host 20 high school juniors and seniors for a day in the Art Building in the summer of 2024.
The CVAD Foundations program and the Onstead Institute have collaborated once more to offer a three-week day program from June 3–21, 2024. Students will learn how art and design practices can be used to investigate and communicate ideas, tell stories, identify problems and determine solutions!
The program allows rising juniors and seniors in high school to engage in critical thinking skills through creative means. Students will participate in activities designed by CVAD faculty that foster visual problem-solving and skills-based making.
Students will explore color theory, design thinking, observational drawing, digital illustration, typography, graphic novels, and other topics at the college’s facilities. CVAD’s 238,000-square-foot building boasts an array of cutting-edge resources and equipment — a stimulating environment for young learners. Previous artmaking experience is not required; students of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend.
