UNT Health Science Center seeks a design manager

University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas, is looking for a full-time design manager as an immediate need. This position serves as the lead point of contact for interior design and small renovation projects, typically ranging up to $1 million in budget and is responsible for coordinating and overseeing programming, design, FF&E and the execution of construction for small interior renovations.

Qualifications

  • NCIDQ Certification or Registered Interior Designer in the State of Texas
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience, and valid Architectural license.
  • Preferred work experience related to campus/facilities planning, design and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as subject matter expert in interior design, space planning, ADA requirements, building codes, and utilization of FF&E.
  • Meets directly with departments and end-users to determine program, scope, and budget for interior design, renovation, and FF&E need.
  • Uses AutoCAD software to develop schematic drawings, pricing plans and notes, and up-to-construction documents for interior renovations
  • Manages installations
  • Performs and coordinates punch lists and follows up on furniture installations of quality and condition of the furniture.
  • Manages design standards and furniture standards for campus Develop finish and FF&E presentations for departments Procurement of FF&E
