Hi! I’m Sophia Yoo and I came to the United States in 2008 from South Korea. I’m really into contemporary design and love seeing cultural stuff. I always wanted to create an app since high school and I instantly fell in love with UI/UX after taking that one digital class with one of our professor, Clinton. I also enjoy creating Icons for the digital brand system and as an illustration. One day, I want to create my own business and launch my apps in play store and app store.

My hobbies are napping and doodling animals. I sometimes play fast and loud music with violin and piano as one of my ways to relieve stress. But I also get stressed over listening to unbelievably fast music because I can’t play them.

What’s on your designer playlist?

When I have to do actual design stuff, I listen to mostly new age classical music by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Hisaishi Joe. My favorites are Merry Go Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle and Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence. Also, K-pop for staying awake all night!
