Hey there! I’m Laurel- a diver, dancer, cyborg, hopeful 20-something year old, and by now a proud graduate of the design program here at UNT. I’m big on concept, and love brainstorming new ideas for fresh projects any day of the week. And, more than that, I love seeing projects come together into their final form.
It’s kind of funny- my entire childhood and even throughout high school I always associated “graphic designers” with people who make bad T-shirt artwork and those desktop backgrounds with butterflies and swirly “decorative elements.” (Know the ones I’m talking about?) So, needless to say, I never had any plan of becoming one almost until after it already happened. That being said, I know I made the right choice. Communication design has honestly been the most challenging thing I’ve ever done, but it has also been the most satisfying. Plus, I find that I’m always excited to see what’s around the next corner.
What’s your go-to phrase in this program/life?
In the immortal words of Bob Ross (may he rest in peace), “there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.”
