CQ selects three works by Doug May in the 61st international juried competition

Sept. 23, 2020 — Multiple works by Douglas D. May, assistant professor for communication design, CVAD Department of Design, were accepted into Creative Quarterly magazine's 61st international juried competition, CQ61, which opened in July for both professionals and students to participate. May won then placed as a runner up to his own win in the graphic design category; he also placed as a runner up in the photography category.

Winners will appear in Issue 61 of Creative Quarterly in the winter. Winners and runners-up will be exhibited in our online gallery in the winter. Winners will also be entered in the year-end juried competitions of the top 100 pieces for 2020.

The visual journal judges four blind-reviewed competitions annually for Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, and Photography. Each quarterly publication and online gallery showcases some of the best art, design and photography that is created internationally. The competitions are open to all art directors, graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, and fine artists across all media. The Brooklyn-based competition narrows the winners and runners-up to 80 pieces out of a field of more than 600 entries per quarter.
