CVAD faculty's work is featured in Communication Arts Journal
Aug. 24, 2020 — An integrated branding design project by Erica Holeman, assistant professor of graphic design, CVAD Department of Design, was selected for publication in Communication Arts, a professional journal for visual communications. Widely respected by creative professionals, the publication sponsors one of the most exclusive major design competitions in the world. This year, the journal received 2,947 entries of which a jury selected only 126 to feature.
Holeman's project is a system of designs that work together to promote an exhibition at her alma mater, Maryland Institute College of Art. Her project will appear in the Communication Arts' Design Annual | 61, published in September 2020. More than 25,000 copies of the journal are distributed to subscribers and through single-copy sales.
Because of the large distribution as well as public access to the journal online, Holeman's work will be seen around the world and her project's acceptance into this highly competitive journal highlights CVAD as an employer of faculty members who are professionally active and talented artists. This fall, Holeman is teaching interaction design, portfolio development and typography.
Since 1959, Communication Arts has published some of the best in visual communications from around the world.
