Houston Arts Alliance acquires art by Ana Lopez for Houston Airport

Lopez, associate professor, Studio Art: Metalsmithing and Jewelry, for direct purchase and acquisition by the City of Houston, Texas. The selection process for Portable Works at Houston Airports was an extremely competitive process. HAA received 632 eligible submissions from artists and galleries across Texas. Lopez's work is one of only 76 artworks selected by a 15-member panel and approved by the City of Houston to be purchased and acquired for the city’s Civic Art Collection.

HAA is a local arts and culture organization. Their principle work is to implement the City of Houston’s vision, values, and goals for its arts grantmaking and civic art investments. HAA's work is conducted through contracts with the City of Houston, overseen by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.
