Previously, the event was a one-day educational symposium created to mentor and develop tomorrow’s leaders and entrepreneurs in the fashion industry, said Anny Chang, CVAD associate professor, fashion design, but the pandemic changed that tradition this year. Originally established as Fashion Group International of Dallas Career Day more than 50 years ago, the FGI Dallas Scholarship Competition annually awards more than $60,000 in cash scholarships or experiences to fashion design and merchandising students from colleges and universities primarily in the North Texas area.
