IDSA hosts an Interactive Furniture Design Workshop

Student making a presentation. The Interior Design Student Association, IDSA, with support from Jeannine Vail, assistant professor, hosted an interactive furniture design workshop with industry partners from a4LE, Steelcase work-life center, and Tangram Interiors

Over 40 Interior Design students received hands-on experience, explored cutting-edge classroom furniture and design concepts, tested through staged furniture layouts, and asked questions in panels with industry partners. Students then worked in teams, with a unique end-user assigned to each team. The teams designed their classroom space to meet the end user’s needs. The students learned how important it is to apply the design process and empathy analysis when selecting meaningful furniture concepts for a unique end-user!
